As reported by PTI, the Indian Railway Conference Association has officially declared a change in the nomenclature of the railway station, shifting it from “Ayodhya Junction” to “Ayodhya Dham.” Importantly, the previously assigned alphabetical code, denoted as ‘AY,’ remains unaltered, as emphasized in the released statement.

The announcement urges the adoption of the revised station name, now identified as ‘Ayodhya Dham Jn,’ while emphasizing that the unchanged alphabetical code ‘AY’ has been duly preserved. This modification has been duly communicated to relevant authorities under the guidance of the concerned office, as specified in the official statement.

Beyond its core infrastructure, the station provides amenities such as parking facilities, staff accommodations, and modern conveniences like elevators, escalators, an air-conditioned waiting lounge, a food plaza, and segregated dormitories for both male and female passengers.

The station’s primary edifice, designed in resemblance to the Ram Mandir, features two shikhars (steeples) and four pyramid-like structures. Crafted from pink Bansi Paharpur stone sourced from Rajasthan, the building material mirrors that of the Ram Mandir, creating a harmonious architectural connection.

For the forthcoming second phase of construction, a budget of ₹480 crore has been earmarked for comprehensive development.

On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate not only the redesigned railway station but also the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya.
