Pogba faced provisional suspension following a random drug test conducted after his club’s 3-0 victory over Udinese on August 20, during which he remained an unused substitute. Subsequently, his B sample was examined.

The French World Cup champion, who will turn 31 in July, had a limited appearance in the previous season due to injuries and missed significant portions of the season before that while he was with Manchester United, mainly because of hamstring and calf issues. He returned to Juventus on a free transfer in July 2022.

Rafaela Pimenta, Pogba’s agent, stated following the initial suspension, “What is certain is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break a rule.”

Juventus’ coach, Massimiliano Allegri, stated on Friday that he was unaware of the B sample test result, saying during a press conference before Saturday’s match against Torino, “I didn’t know, I found out now. Let’s wait… Humanly, I feel sorry for Paul.”

Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal, Nado Italia, refrained from commenting on Pogba’s case, citing privacy regulations.
