After years of feedback from creators about limited growth opportunities, Twitch has announced the launch of its Discovery Feed, along with several other new features. Revealed during the TwitchCon Paris opening ceremony, these updates primarily focus on supporting short-form video content. While livestreaming remains Twitch’s core offering, creators often rely on platforms like YouTube Shorts and TikTok to attract viewers to their Twitch channels.

Similar to TikTok, the Discovery Feed will be a vertical scrollable feed within the Twitch app. Twitch, the popular streaming platform, has recently addressed concerns raised by content creators regarding limited growth opportunities. In response to years of feedback, Twitch has introduced a new feature called the Discovery Feed, among other updates. These changes are primarily aimed at supporting short-form video content.

In this new feature users can convert a normal streaming video to a vertical format and this works in short form video too.. Twitch now supports direct exports to YouTube, and starting in August, From August in this new feature clips can directly Export to Tik Tok. The clip editor will also be available on mobile, making it easier for streamers to share content effortlessly.

Under the Guest Star feature, creators will be able to invite guests onto their channels and stream simultaneously. Initially rolling out for a select number of channels in August, this “streaming together” capability enables up to five creators to stream together while appearing live on their respective channels. The feature will eventually be available to all Twitch streamers in the coming months, regardless of their partner or affiliate status.

 

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy expressed the need for continuous innovation and development to meet the evolving needs of the Twitch community. The latest updates reflect Twitch’s commitment to building a platform that supports its creators and community in the years to come.
